Purpose: The Clinical Studies
Advisory Board provides an oversight function as a peer-review panel
to insure all clinical studies conducted by the Health and Medical Research
Foundation are consistent with accepted scientific methods and protocols.
Board members are not spokespersons for any company or product and may
be involved with multiple products and/or companies. While they may
or may not also serve as co-investigators for a particular study, their
responsibilities are similar to those of co-investigators. Specifically,
their functions include, aiding in the conceptualization and design
of research studies, preparation of study protocols, coordination with
Institutional Review Boards, monitoring of data collection, conducting
independent analyses of study data, preparation of study reports and
scientific manuscripts, and insuring all citations to the work of other
researchers and scientists are consistent with the information provided
in the cited published studies. Serving on the Advisory Board does not
constitute endorsement of our grantor's products or technologies either
personally or by the institutions with whom they are affiliated. Board
members represent a wide variety of medical and scientific specialties
either in their clinical practices and/or appointments at research or
academic institutions and currently include:

Harry A. Croft, M.D.
Private Practice in Psychiatry
Harry A. Croft is currently in
private practice and serves as Medical Director and CEO of The Croft
Group, PA, A Multidisciplinary Mental Health Group. He is in private
practice in Psychiatry. He is also Medical Director of Research and
Education at Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio, Texas.
He is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of
the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association,
the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Association
of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, the American Society for
Clinical Hypnosis, the American Society for Clinical Psychopharmacology,
the Titus Harris Psychiatry Society, the National Medical Speakers Association,
the National Association of Physician Broadcasters and the American
Academy of Radio and Television Health Communicators.
Dr. Croft received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical
Branch, Galveston, Texas. His general psychiatry residency and partial
obstetrics and gynecology residency was at the University of Texas Medical
Branch, Galveston, Texas.

Larry K. Parker, M.D.
Obstetrician/Gynecologist
Fellow of American College of OB/GYN
Dr. Parker brings more than 14 years experience in women’s health. He
served as chief of staff at Angleton-Danbury General Hospital in Angleton,
TX, and was chief of OB/GYN. Prior to joining the hospital, Dr. Parker
was a high-risk clinic coordinator and teenage clinic coordinator at
Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was appointed as an associate professor
at Michigan State University in 1991, and clinical instructor in 1990.
Dr. Parker received his medical school training at the University of
Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, and completed his residency
at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where he
was named chief resident of OB/GYN. He is a member of the Texas Medical
Association, American Medical Association and American College of OB/GYN.
Dennis Pullin, M.S.
Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialist
(Acting Chairman)
Mr. Pullin is a sought-after expert and speaker on sports medicine,
with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. He is currently
vice president of Orthopedic Resources Centers. Previously, he was chief
operating officer for Hopestar Medical Management Group as well as executive
director of the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute, Baylor College of
Medicine.
William Squires, Jr. Ph.D.
Professor of Biology
Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, FACSM
William Squires is an award-winning educator, author, professor, consultant
and researcher in the field of sports medicine, cardiac rehabilitation,
exercise, physiology, aerospace physiology, biology, nutraceuticals
and environmental health. He currently holds numerous appointed professorships
on distinguished panels at leading universities. He is the editor of
books and numerous articles and papers.
Steven Van Camp, M.D.
Cardiologist
Past President and Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine
Dr. Van Camp is a distinguished physician, professor, lecturer, consultant,
author and researcher in preventative cardiovascular health and pathophysiologic
aspects of sports medicine. His work is published in more than 20 medical
and scientific journals, and he has written chapters in 12 textbooks.
Dr. John A. Wise, Ph.D.
Microbiology
Dr. Wise has published numerous studies and articles on nutrition and
health. From 1982 to 1986, Dr. Wise was Executive Vice President of
Research and Development for United Sciences of America, Inc. Dr. Wise
received a B.S. in Preventative Medicine and a B.A. in Zoology from
the University of Washington in 1963, and an M.S. in Microbiology from
the University of Minnesota in 1967. He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology
from Oregon State University in 1970.
